Last month saw the start of the RCC’s coveted Spectac! 2018 tour, with a superb opening show taking place in Surrey, British Columbia at the end of May.
This was the first of 98 shows that were scheduled to take place until August 6th, with the tour now in its final stages as it traverses across the length and breadth of Ontario.

What Should You Expect from the Mississauga Leg of the Tour
Much has been said and written about the Royal Canadian Circus troupe, which includes performers from 12 different countries. This internationally renowned cast included some of the biggest names in the industry, including the world famous ringmaster extraordinaire Dominik Bauer. Bauer is ably supported by an impressive cast, including the famous Guerrero 4 Man High Wire act (which earned international repute after performing on America’s Got Talent). Similarly, fans can enjoy the S. Caleb Carinci-Asch Equestrian Acrobats, along with Trapeze and The Chinese Acrobats from the Far East.
On a slightly lighter note, the troupe also includes the juggling world record holder Tommy Tequilla, known to his parents at Thomas Aguila. Renowned as the world’s fastest and most dazzling juggler, he has performed across the globe and represents stunning troupes such as Cirque du Soleil and Barnum and Bailey.
He also has a number of television and film credits to his name, while he holds a rather niche world record for simultaneously juggling nine ping-pong balls with his mouth!
Is There Anything Else That You Need to Know?
As you can see, the Royal Canadian Circus Spectac! 2018 represents an incredible showcase of talent and has arguably created one of the best and most elite cast of circus artists ever seen.
It’s also interesting to note that the case has been carefully and diligently cultivated, in order to provide a diverse level of entertainment for multi-generational families. So, while there is plenty to keep children and teenagers intrigued, adults can also marvel at the audacity and technical ability showcased during edge-of-the-seat stunts such as the Wheel of Destiny.
The RCC also recently announced that it would remove exotic animals from its act in time for the 2018 Spectac! tour. While the Royal Canadian Family Circus show may be blazing a trail in this respect, this is part of a wider trend in the global industry as troupes look to consider the rights of exotic animals and redefine their acts to eradicate their participation.
This is genuinely positive news from our perspective, while it reflects well on the troupe without impacting negatively on the quality or the appeal of the show!
